LifeWorks is excited to offer a new line-up of summer courses, specifically designed to do the kind of work that gets squeezed out during the regular school year. Spots are limited, so we wanted to give our LifeWorks families first access.
We've got something for everyone this summer: an essay writing master class for students who want to prepare for AP and college-level writing, a math fundamentals course for students who need to address some conceptual gaps, and an SAT mini-course for students looking to launch their test prep journeys.
June 29 – July 2 | Mon – Thu | 10 am – 1 pm
In many high school English classrooms, writing formulas end up overshadowing the critical thinking skills that students need to actually craft strong essays. The result? Essays that are all form and no substance—not to mention painful to write!
This four-day Master Class is designed to change all that. We'll walk students through a complete and effective writing process, from generating ideas to developing compelling arguments to polishing final drafts. Using short, engaging texts, students will practice multiple techniques for generating strong analysis that they can immediately apply in AP classrooms and beyond.
Ultimately, this Master Class will transform students' relationship with essay writing itself, paving the way for a process that is less confusing, less frustrating, more satisfying, and more empowering.
July 13 – 16 | Aug 3 – 6 | Mon – Thu | 12:30 – 3:00 pm
When a student struggles in math, the problem usually isn't the current material—it's an earlier concept that never fully "clicked." These foundational gaps are surprisingly common, and they quietly compound over time, chipping away at a student's confidence.
Here's the good news: these gaps are very fixable. They just need a little time and attention—two things the school year rarely offers.
This four-day bootcamp gives students the space to go back and address their pain points without the pressure of tomorrow's test or tonight's homework. We start with a diagnostic to pinpoint each student's weaknesses, then provide customized exercises that target those exact areas. Whether it's fractions or percents, algebra or geometry, every student gets what they need.
No pressure. No one-size-fits-all. Just the space to finally build a solid foundation.
3 session options | 4:00 – 7:00 pm
Is your student planning to take the SAT but feeling intimidated or simply unsure about where to begin?
This one-day mini-course is designed to demystify the SAT and give students a clear-eyed view of what's ahead. We'll cover the format and structure of the test, walk through the question types for each section, and share the best strategies for approaching each question type. Students will also leave with practical tips for building an effective study plan—whether they're preparing on their own or with support.
