Sarah Duran

Sarah is the Co-Owner of LifeWorks Learning Center, where she has been supporting students for over a decade. After seeing firsthand how The LifeWorks Method helps young people grow in both confidence and skill, she chose to join Jai in leading the organization so that more students and families could benefit from its approach.

Sarah specialized in tutoring math, writing, and SAT/ACT prep. She has a gift for making complex ideas clear and approachable, whether she’s helping a student tackle algebra, prepare for an exam, or craft a thoughtful essay. She believes every student can succeed with the right support — and she’s passionate about helping them move past self-doubt so they can discover confidence and curiosity in their learning.

When it comes to writing, Sarah supports the full spectrum of learners: those who find writing overwhelming as well as those who already love it and want to push further. She helps anxious writers build reliable, low-stress processes, while also teaching advanced strategies in analysis, idea generation, and editing that prepare students for the demands of college-level work and beyond.

Warm, insightful, and deeply committed, Sarah is known for building relationships that help students feel both supported and challenged. She lives in Berkeley with her husband, Ivan, and their young son, Ro.
